Read Ruth 1

Think About It:

1. What kind of a woman do you think Naomi was?
2. Why did Ruth choose to stay with Naomi?

Family Time:

1. Why do you think Orpah chose to go back to her people? (verse 15) Why did Ruth choose to follow Naomi? (verse 16)
2. Do you think the Lord purposely “dealt bitterly” with Naomi as she said in verses 20-21?
3. If we are having a hard time – maybe we are sick, or like Naomi, someone we love dies – does that mean God is afflicting us (treating us bad)?
4. Can God be pleased with us even in hard times? Can you think of a hard time when you thought like Naomi, that God was upset with you? Can you think of a hard time when you knew God was with you?
