Read Numbers 27
Think About It:
- Moses went to the LORD for counsel on the Inheritance Law when no son was born to a family or no children at all. What is your inheritance as a son or daughter of the King?
- Moses asked the LORD to show him the next leader for His people. What does this account tell us about Moses’ character even after he had disobeyed the instructions of God at Kadesh? What does this tell us about God?
Family Time:
- Moses’ life was coming to an end. He asked God to choose someone who would lead the people. God chose Joshua, who was a man who had the Spirit of God in him. He told Moses what to do and how to do it, and Moses obeyed all that God told him to do. Why do you think this is important?
- What might have happened if Moses would have just chosen his own leader for the people and done it his own way?
- God alone knows the hearts of man, and it is important that we do not just choose who should lead us just by what we see. We should always seek God and ask Him to place people over us that HE wants to have in that place.
- Spend a few minutes praying for those that will be placed over you…teachers, law enforcement, judges, pastors, etc.
