Read Exodus 11
Think About It:
- What does this chapter say about God’s love for His oppressed people?
- Here, the enemy of God’s people is the Egyptians. Who is your enemy? How has God revealed His love to you?
- Verse 10 says that the LORD hardened Pharaoh’s heart. Why would God harden Pharaoh’s heart?
Family Time:
In the previous chapters, Moses was asking Pharaoh to let the Israelites go out of Egypt in order to worship God for a short time period. Egypt could have avoided the plagues if Pharaoh would have listened to what God was telling him to do through Moses. In this chapter, God tells Moses that he is bringing one more plague that is so horrible that Pharaoh will let the Israelites go completely. Have you ever been in a situation where you continually disobeyed your parents, a teacher, God, or some kind of authority to the point where you put yourself in a horrible situation that could have been avoided had you listened in the first place?
