Read Exodus 9
Think About It:
- Why in verse 16 did God allow the Egyptians to live?
- How or why do you think Moses knew Pharaoh still did not fear God?
Family Time:
- How would the death of all their livestock effect Egyptian society?
- Verse 11 says that the royal magicians were unable to stand before Moses because they were also afflicted with the plague of boils. Do you think this made any of them believe in God’s power? Has there ever been a time where you had to see/hear/feel something to believe it?
- Verse 20 states that Pharaoh’s officials who feared the Lord brought in their slaves and animals before the hailstorm. Do you think these men wanted to follow and trust in God, or did they just fear that their property would be destroyed? Do you think there are people who say they believe in God for fear of what might happen to them when they die, but don’t really follow God’s teachings or trust in God to lead their lives?
