Read Exodus 3
Think About It:
- Moses encountered a burning bush and it changed his life forever. Have you ever had a personal encounter with God that changed the direction of your life forever?
- What were Moses’ thoughts as he realized what God was asking of him?
Family Time:
Memory Verse: Exodus 3:14-15 – “ 14 God said to Moses, “I am who I am. This is what you are to say to the Israelites: ‘I am has sent me to you.’” 15 God also said to Moses, “Say to the Israelites, ‘The Lord, the God of your fathers—the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob—has sent me to you.’ “This is my name forever, the name you shall call me from generation to generation.”
- When the Lord speaks to Moses at the burning bush we learn that the Lord has heard the “cry” of his people. Have you ever truly cried out to God? Is there a sin in your life that you can’t seem to escape? Cry out to him! He will answer! Sometimes as we see in scripture His response seems delayed but He will answer because His timing is perfect.
- Who does the Lord say he is in verse 14? God instructed his people to use this name from generation to generation. You see, he does not change! We can be assured that he is still the Great I Am and that he is sufficient for every need in our life. Does your life reflect the truth that he is still Lord of all or are we content to just have him when he is convenient to us?
