- In what ways does Jacob show that he has resorted to his old scheming ways and taken matters into his own hands?
- In what ways does Jacob show that he is living by faith and trusting in God’s provision and protection?
- What does this chapter teach about reconciliation with those we’ve wronged? How does this apply to reconciliation with God?

- Why did Jacob send gifts ahead to Esau (verse 8)?
- What did Esau do when he saw Jacob (verse 4)?
- How did Esau treat Jacob (verses 8-16)?
- How does this show that Esau had forgiven Jacob, even before he saw him?
- Is there anyone you need to forgive and to reach out to with kindness…even if they don’t deserve it?
